Losing the will to live haha - Day 374

Updated: Apr 7, 2021

Hopefully, you are all still with me after my over-excitement yesterday. From now on there will be just one burst of posting around 5 o'clock.

This morning I was supposed to be up and at it, by 8 o'clock, my doctor was scheduled to ring me with what I can only imagine was a bottom kicking over my diabetic blood results. His time frame was between 8 and 11 o'clock. The doctor phoned with said bottom whupping and has agreed to give me 3 months to turn things around.

So I was just about to get out of bed when someone let themselves in the front door. I wasn't overly worried, as only my children have keys and it was unlikely I was about to be accosted in my bed (chance would be a fine thing haha) but it was disconcerting. Anyway, it was Sarah who was off work and had just dropped the children off at school. So a sneaky cuppa later and I was ready to get myself dressed, ready to face the daunting task of taking the mother unit shopping.

When I arrived at mums she asked if we could call on her sister. I said we could go but I wouldn't come in and she could just talk to her on the doorstep. Well that was never going to happen was it, I have to say 1 and half hours later she emerged from the house ready for us to go shopping. To say I had lost the will to live was an understatement. After this, we went to the supermarket where mother exclaimed in a loud outside voice, not an inside voice, that the supermarket was thieving robbers because they had loads of 2 for 1 offer on a variety of foods, and she only wanted one, not two. Trying to explain to an 89-year-old the wisdom of 2 for 1 shopping was always going to be on a hiding to hell, so I gave up and put some distance between me and her and let her carry on.

Anyway, that was my traumatic morning.

So now onto something more interesting, Sarah is looking into the possibility of getting a quartz island top for me for my new kitchen. She is the sales director at F Jones in Middlesborough, who supply granite and quartz to kitchen companies so I may be on for a good deal fingers crossed. The idea is that having the island in quartz would make a great feature and would be excellent when I am rolling out fondant for my cakes.

My lovely window cleaner came today. He is a good old fashioned window cleaner with soapy water, shammy leather and a blade. None of these ionised water sprays on a pole two mins and the whole house is done. Not a bit of it, windows soaped and rinsed and then bladed as well as all the frames and doors even the conservatory. It is the best £15 pounds I spend every 6 weeks.
