I have woken for the past 5 mornings to bright clear skies. Still a bit chilly that's a given, but it is so nice to open the blinds and the sun is smiling down on you.
Now, all that needs to happen is for the sun to actually stoke up its furnace and add some heat to the cheery sunshine.
So serious for a Monday morning, haha, but seriously it is so nice to see the sunshine I can't help mentioning it.
Now some of us, not mentioning any names, Karen Theart, are sweltering under brilliant, hot South African skies haha, so jealous. She wrote the other week that they were praying for rain. I offered to send her a couple of buckets full in the post, as we have had a few weeks recently of none stop rain. That is why the weak Spring sunshine is so welcome. So this morning I went in search of signs of spring. We have had of course the snowdrops and the winter Jasmin for a while now but I wanted to see what else had woken up. The last picture in this group shows my Skimmia surrounded by heathers who have kept growing and their colour throughout the winter months, now the skimmia's red berries are about to burst forth into white flowers. The Skimmia is a native of temperate Asia but do very well here, being evergreen they are a nice addition to the garden.
Isn't it funny how early flowers tend to be white and now as spring moves in we are seeing a lot of yellow, well that's my garden anyway? Even the rosemary has sprouted delicate lilac orchid shaped flowers.
This afternoon I will be putting my link governor hat on and heading off to Hurworth Primary to speak to the Art lead teacher. As part of my role I also look after RE and DT (design technology) I will be quizzing her on how the subject is taught in school and what plans they have for the coming year and beyond. I will be paying the other links a visit over this week, but once I have done one visit I will have a template for subsequent visits. As far as governor duties and training I have something on every day this week, I seriously don't know how I let that happen haha.
