Sun shining again today. I have been hold up in the Jungalow for most of the last fortnight, only going out to the food shop well today, my friends, I am escaping the nest and flying. Only metaphorically not physically haha. I am off on a jaunt to Thirsk with Sarah and Lee. We are going to look at flooring options for our respective homes. I will be choosing my new dining room carpet and the LVT (Luxury vinyl tiles) for the new kitchen. I am going for an updated version of the traditional herringbone pattern.
So with the outing firmly in my mind, I have gone to town with the getting ready preparation. I had a shower, washed and styled my hair I have even dragged out the makeup, shock horror, actually haven't worn it for a year and a half now, my face feels well clagged up haha.
It's funny how much effort I am putting in to go choose some carpets haha. Still, it is an outing actually going somewhere different that isn't in Darlington.
Yesterday one of the ladies that run the playgroup called Tiddlywinks, which, I helped out at, called to say that they were opening up again after nearly 2 years closed. I tend to do all the craftwork, singing, dancing and generally messing about at the group. It will be really weird going back to it after so long. So next week we are having a socially distanced meeting to discuss the details with a view to opening again on the 10th May. I think that it will be only 15 adults with their children at first until we see what Boris eases next.
After concluding our business with Billy Calvert, we walked into the centre of Thirsk looking for sustenance. The knitting Ninjas had been out in force decorating the bollards and I think you will agree they are very clever.
We stopped for a cheeky larger before finding a place on the market square that would serve us fish and chips. I have to say they were marvellous, the sun was really warm and it felt like a summers day. So all around a successful outing.
