Haha, and you thought my meme today was poignant and heavy.
The alarm went off and I thought I had snoozed it for five minutes until the doorbell rang to announce the arrival of my grandsons. Apparently, I had switched it off not snoozed it, so I was a bit like a headless chicken this morning.
Speaking of the doorbell it has a function on it that allows you to change the ring tone to match seasonal events. Yes, you have guessed it, the doorbell is now omitting ghostly cackles or Halloween music lol, well you wouldn't expect anything less from me, would you? To top it off I had not prepared the children's breakfasts and Sarah (who had also slept in) had not prepared their packed lunches either so she sent a DIY kit of ingredients for me to do it for them. I have to say it was a close call to get out of the house and to school in time, but we managed with a minute to spare.
So this morning after I had dropped the children off at school I made my way to Bristol Street Motors, to book my car in for investigation.
Yes I know 300 miles on the clock and things are not as they should be. Well, I have been trying all week to book my car in so finally today I managed.
Now the courtesy car they have loaned me is a beast. It is a Qashqai top of the range with all the bells and whistles you would ever want, from heated screens to electric memory seats that move to your optimum driving position when you sit in it - fancy. But it is huge and I was a little nervous driving it off the forecourt this morning, to say the least. But by the time I got it home, it was okay. Now I will have to wait until they ring me to tell me if they have found the source of the purring that is so annoying and coming from the engine compartment. Mind you I will be so annoyed if they produce a kitten from under the bonnet haha.
The garage has just been on, whilst I have been writing the blog, to tell me that my shiny new car needs a new braking servo, whatever that means, so I will be keeping the beast overnight.
Ben sent me this picture this morning, so it would appear that he has decided to sell his house. I have known for some time that they have not been happy as they are rapidly outgrowing the house.
It has been on the market a few days now and he has already had 2 viewings and more to come on the weekend.
So if you are interested in a 3-bed semi in Aycliffe get in touch with Carvers haha.
I did say to him that he may sell straight away as the housing market is quite buoyant at the moment and then he would be homeless, but he didn't seem worried.
When I asked him if he had anything new in mind he said no, so brave or stupid I don't know. Better dust off the princess tower just in case they decide to move in.
Well, the rest of my day is as per for a Thursday, Ian the gardener will be here this afternoon, I will be taking the mother unit to her sister at 5 o'clock then shooting off to drop Harry off at basketball training, then at 6.45 I will be going down to Sarahs for my tea, I think it is steak tonight - yummy, and then finally I will be off back to pick mum up from her sisters to take her home at 9.45. So busy, busy as per.
