Jesus v Santa

Okay, I always say Good Morning and it is rare that I agree with the meme about it only being a good morning if I was still in bed.

Well this morning after the school run, my sister and I decided we would partake in some unhindered retail therapy. My sister without her husband Jeff and me without the mother unit.

It was marvellous, so four shops later and a couple of carrier bags full of goodies each, we headed off to see how mum was today.

We had received a text message earlier from Sues son to say that he had visited mum and she was still not well, in fact, his words were she is well confused this morning.

When we arrived I have to say she didn't look very well. Martin was still there and it didn't take Sue and me long to realise that she was very confused and disorientated. Not like her at all. So with that in mind, I telephoned her GP this afternoon. The GP thought that she could have a chest infection and prescribed antibiotics but also suggested that she see mum in person tomorrow, which is a great relief.

This afternoon I have been back to playgroup. The playgroup leader had asked me to reprise my Mary in the stable role from the weekend, for the toddlers. Whilst she told the story I ducked into the cupboard and my stable got into costume and got Jesus out of his box in time for them to reach the stable and I was revealed. I have to say the parents and the children were well impressed haha.

Then from one end of the Christmas story vibe to the other, as Santa arrived to give the children a little gift. At least I can say I didn't set the children off crying as Santa did haha. I have to say attending the playgroup this afternoon most certainly didn't change my mind about taking it on again. The leader was just as airheaded and flappy as before, even down to misjudging that the parents would crawl out of the woodwork for the Christmas Party. So it was that I was hastily wrapping additional gifts to put in Santa's sack, I have to say quite a shambles.

I will be off to mums soon to bring her back to the Jungalow for her tea. Tonight I am cooking a whole chicken with trimmings. I also have to tell her that some antibiotics are winging their way to her and that she will be going to see the doctor in person tomorrow afternoon.
