It's Saturday and the builder and kitchen fitter are here. They don't usually work on a Saturday but the kitchen fitter has another job to go on to on Monday so he is here finishing the island. I think the builder came just to show he was not slacking, whilst he was here I got him to secure all the sockets that he had left flopping about.
Sarah came to pick the boys up last night and stayed on to help me do an initial clean in the new kitchen. She is an absolute deva or whirling dervish take your pick when it comes to cleaning. So by the end of the evening, my new kitchen although not completely finished was sparkling and smelling great. But the main plus was the lack of dust in the air. I think I only sneezed 5 times yesterday instead of 20 or 30 times at the height of the renovations. However, it is the tip of the iceberg as dust has gotten everywhere.
I have spent the best part of an hour cleaning this chandelier. It is going to replace the five armed one which is in the lounge at the moment. It is identical but has eight arms instead. Amazing how many nooks and crannies there was to clean.
Well, this is my nearly finished kitchen, there are a few bits to finish off on Monday and then it is just a couple of weeks to wait for the flooring.
As you can see I also got my hall back. With all the kitchen bits used or ready to go back I was able to clear the hall out. I am super excited to get my mini wine cooler in. it holds 12 bottles haha.
However as beautiful as my new kitchen is I can't say the same for the old kitchen. But I am assured that it will be a craft room by this time next week haha. I am not holding my breath.
