It's Alive!!!!!!!!

Woke to a smattering of snow this morning, it is a good job I put fleece around my Fig tree, but because it was relatively warm last night haha, I didn't cover the car's windscreen, big mistake, huge, (famous film quote right there, does anyone know the film I am quoting, answers in the comments please haha, the answer will be in tomorrows blog. see if you were right) so I guess I will be outside defrosting again this morning.

Oh my days, what an idiot I am!!!!! please don't confirm that haha.

Last night I reported that my double oven had mysteriously half stopped working. I have slept on the problem and armed with my trustee tape measure this morning I was all ready to measure up for a new oven. Just before I began the measuring I thought I would put the flashing oven clock right very annoying even if it is caput. That done I switched on the double oven and hey-presto "IT'S ALIVE"!!!! So apparently it won't work if the cock is not set, who knew, but at least I have saved myself many hundreds of pounds I thought I was going to spend this morning replacing it.

Just back from the school run. Had a few extra sneaky jobs to do this morning so, Harry dropped off at school, last Christmas card posted (I have just got the recipient new address) and 2 Christmas presents posted to South Wales for my lovely brother and sister-in-law, then back to the Jungalow by 9 o'clock just as my builder pulled up - just call me Speedy Gonzales haha.

I have lights. I went around putting every room light on when they had finished haha. The Jungalow looked like Blackpool illuminations. It all came down to a faulty piece of wire maybe 6 feet long in the ceiling void of the old kitchen. Once a new wire was installed it was all systems go again. They had a novel way of charging the system to see if it would work. They actually wired the lighting ring to a plug and plugged it in the hall socket. Once they did that the whole bungalow lit up. This afternoon they have attached the new wire permanently to the consumer unit and we are now good to go.

A couple of weeks ago my kind neighbour Jackie called with a very large bag of cooking apples. Well, they have sat on my kitchen island since then, getting riper by the day. I found recipes for Apple and Ginger Jam and an Apple Chutney. I bought all the ingredients to make said items putting them on the top of the island where they have remained until this morning when I have thrown myself into chutney making. But of course, it wouldn't be any fun if it all went to plan now, would it? I had a very smelly cat-arsed-trophy with the malt vinegar when the squeezer cap inside exploded off sending male vinegar everywhere. Now I hate the smell of vinegar and actually the taste in its neat form so you can imagine what it was like in the kitchen. Floors, cupboards, island top, cookbook and my new cardigan all had to be washed urghh. But in the end, I ended up with Apple Chutney to go with the Apple and Ginger Jam I made the other day.

As you can see I have even got crafty with the jar lids.
