This morning was the usual get up and shower job before the children rocked up ahead of the school run. However, today they were a little later as Sarah had a doctors appointment which, meant that I had an extra 15 mins, what to do with all that extra time haha. Well, I don't know what I did with it as it just evaporated.
After the school run, I went straight to mums for the weekly shopping ordeal. I thought she would not want to go after yesterdays adventure but she was ready and up for it when I got there. I have to say, however, that she was not really firing on all cylinders and was a bit more forgetful and spaced out than usual. Having said that we still spent over an hour in Pound Stretchers whilst she picked up all manner of things to examine. But she did manage to get the one thing on her shopping list, a new watering can.
Now some exciting news, I was doing a little gardening this afternoon and I went into the garage to quietly (so as not to spook my baby blackbirds) retrieve my trowel. I looked up expecting to see the tiny yellow mouths waiting for food in the nest. Imagine my surprise when I found the nest empty. Looking around I soon spied the fledglings dotted about the garage. Yes people I am a proud mama, my baby blackbirds have vacated the nest.
They did a good job of filling my garage with poo I am sorry to say and I had to duck down to allow them to fly out of the garage through the open door.
Yesterday Ian my garden was tasked with reshaping my front lawn. It has been, for as long as I have owned the Jungalow, a funny wedge-shaped edge to the front lawn. But now it is beautifully straight and I have now planted it up with a variety of different flowering fuchsias.
I have this afternoon baked the vanilla sponges which will be made up tomorrow into Billy's birthday cake. He will come with his gran Rita to collect it on Sunday. I have to say I am looking forward to creating it because I have missed doing these cakes, as no one has been celebrating birthdays with parties through the lockdown.
