Good morning people.
Well today is Saturday and by rights, I should have been having a lie-in, but no such luck. The alarm went off at 8.15 and I was straight up and in the shower. So what was the rush this morning, well I was meeting up with Sarah in the town to get our nails done. We usually go to a saloon on the outskirts of the centre but since our manicurist has gone on maternity leave the quality and finish of the nails by her replacement is not good. So we decided to go back to the iNails bar in the centre. It is run predominantly by Chinese girls and they are super-efficient at what they do. So there we were leaning on the door at precisely 9oclock so that we would be first in because they get very busy. Sarah went for a nude colour with leopard skin print, very nice indeed. I went for something a little more conventional. Maroon and silver sparkle.
So nails suitably beautified I returned home to await the arrival of Ben. He was working for me today. He began the task of putting in my lamppost at the front of the house. This involved making a cement slab for the lamp to be screwed to and then running a wire inside a conduit around the edge of the garden and into the house to be wired up inside one of the sockets in my dining room. It was extremely hot today and poor Ben was sweating gallons, but being a good mummy I kept him supplied with sandwiches, tea and cold drinks. At one point I was mixing cement to give his back a rest, then threading the wire through the conduit. He will return one day next week to complete the installation of the lampost.
