Oh, my days this was defo me today. After the school run, I had only one other thing to do today, which took me until lunch time, then I am afraid I plonked myself in the chair and watched suitably mind-numbing TV all afternoon.
I don't usually do that but today I was defo not feeling in the mood to do anything.
So what was my only job this morning you may ask, well, I have for a long time thought that my front door whilst beautifully formed and very functional could do better in letting more light into my, sometimes, dingy hallway.
With this idea in mind, I had called Starlight Windows to come out and give me a price to replace the said door with a virtually all glass one. He showed me some lovely designs and after discussing my wish list with the salesman we came up with what is probably the best option. It would see light flooding into the hall. Whilst I made the guy a cup of coffee he sat down and calculated a price. I was glad that I was sitting down as the quote he gave me was £1678. So it is something I will be thinking about, in the meantime, I have invited another window & door company to come and give me a like for like quote. At the end of the day, the expenditure would be a pure unnecessary frivolity so a big decision to make.
So that has been my day, the grandsons are already at home as they requested to go straight from school tonight, I feel so bad that I have wasted it by sitting in front of the TV but now I am off out to fetch mum back for her tea and of course, we have our regular cards night tonight.
