It is getting very close now Santorini is beckoning. I have an early train at 8 on Tuesday morning down to Manchester Airport, Sue will be taking me and at the other end of the holiday, Ben will travel down to Manchester airport and pick me up, thank you, Ben and Sue.
I have started the last phase of this mammoth undertaking.
The case has found its way downstairs, the clothes have been selected and packed in small lightweight packing bags.
The shoes and beach towels are in the case, I will be trying on a selection of swimsuits tonight and then it is only my toiletries to go on Monday night.
I have checked and double-checked boarding passes train tickets etc and will no doubt check them again before I set off. I purchased my euros this morning and bought a new bra, well your under garments have to be tip top do they not haha.
So the upshot is that next week's blog will be late. As I am only going for a week I will publish the blog mid-week when I get back.
On Friday I went to have my holiday nails applied. Chrome pale orange but this time I have the matching colour put on my toes like you do haha, so I am now all set.
On Sunday the 14th I hosted a social evening for the u3a committee and their partners. It was a most successful evening. Linda, who like me, is on her own decided that her plus one would be her teddy. I have to say he didn't eat much. One of our committee is Gluten Free so everything which was on offer was indeed Gluten Free which was much appreciated.
Midweek I thought that the Northumbrian Water Board had switched out my supply for beer haha. Most disconcerting to be fair, there was no explanation from them but mid afternoon a little man in a van turned up and proceeded to flush out the system. When I asked him what the problem was he sighted the change in temperature had disturbed the sediments in the pipes. I have to say I was not convinced and I think he thought he was talking to a daft pensioner.
On Thursday Rita and I had brunch at Maggies in town. It was great to catch up.
This week's brain teaser - Can you find the squirrel so he can receive his letter?
