So over this last week I have accompanied my grandsons and Sarah to 2 of the country's iconic historical museums.
So first off on Wednesday, we all travelled down to Leeds to visit the Royal Armouries.
The Armoury is a magnificent collection of guns, swords, armour etc through the ages.
We even got to see some action in the Tilt Yard as we watched two horsemen dressed as a Cavalier and a Round Head do a series of skill challenges.
The great part about this museum is that it is completely free to get in, and should the whimsy take you the building is liberally sprinkled with donation boxes.
This picture of me hasn't really done well in the process which I have to do to photographs so that they don't take up to much space. But you can still get a flavour.
Below are 12 more pictures of the Armoury out of the 40 odd taken haha enjoy.
On Friday we ventured to the Viking Jorvik Centre in York, not before stopping off for a bit of retail at Mcartha Glen Outlet haha. But as you can see the boys again had a great time, especially on the Dark Ride. They particularly made comments on the smells that accompanied the journey around the Viking village. Especially picture 5 which depicted a Viking on the toilet.
This week our fur baby was four years old.
He has quietened down a lot of late which is not a bad thing as he is a very powerful dog and when he decides to greet you he can easily knock you off your feet.
Sarah made the dog who is called Dave a birthday cake.
It was made from 400g of raw prime minced beef shaped into a bone with a bone-shaped dog-friendly biscuit on the top. Dave was so excited with the cake and wolfed it down in 5 huge bits haha.
PUZZLE CORNER
This week's little teaser can you find the penguin hiding amongst the toucans
