Happy New Year everyone. I trust you all had a brilliant Christmas and New Year.
Of course special thoughts and wishes go out to those who didnt have such a merry Christmas for one reason or another.
So, moving on from last weeks blog, which left off on a steam train travelling from Leyburn to Leeming Bar, I will now finish the festivities by letting you know about New Years Eve, as if I wouldnt haha.
After returning from our over nighter in Leeming Bar, I was straight into baby sitting over night for Sarah, tick Friday night, then on Saturday night I was babysitting for Ben, tick Saturday night.
Now we get to New Years Eve. Sarah was hosting a sparkles and glits party in her home which of course I was invited to.
So out came the sequined dress and fancy shoes and the night began.
Sarah had laid on a lovely buffet as well as a chilli and a butter chicken and copious amounts of drinks were consumed up until the witching hour, when we all piled into the lounge to welcome in the New Year.
I have to say the laser and firework display was very good this year. My pathetic shot of it on the TV doesnt go any where near to how good it was. After the show we went back into the dining room and played a variety of silly boozy games until 3.30 New Years Day, at which time I went to bed. So over Christmas Week I have only spent 2 days sleeping in the Jungalow, so you can imagine how pleased i was to climb back into my own bed on News Day night.
Tuesday was my first u3a committee meeting for 2024 which was very interesting.
On Friday after having a fairly relaxed week recovering from Christmas etc I braved the dentist for Concious Sedation to have 4 implants put into my mouth. It has taken me 2 years to pluck up the courage to have it done and let me tell you I was bricking it. Ben came to collect me and we travelled to Thornaby for the procedure. I have to say it was all over within the hour and I couldnt have cared less, so good was the sedation.
However this morning I woke with blood dribbles from each side of my mouth and my teeth discloured with blood, I looked like a creepy vampire haha. But I had had a good nights sleep and was not in to much discomfort today. Although, I am having to live on soup, porridge, mash potatoes and weetabix for the coming week haha. My dentist also gave my some antibiotics just in case. So the hope is that by the time I get to April and my birthday celebrations I will have my new teeth in place. And before you mention it I do look very special in that middle photo.
Saturday morning was a treat as I accompanied my daugther and her husband to watch Leighton in his first panto with his stage school. It was a version of Peter Pan, which included Wendy making Parmo's for the lost boys and Smeer falling in love with Wendy haha. Leighton was a pirate and did fabulously well.
Last weeks solution did you find them all?
Frost, ice, snow, boots, chill and mittens
