Well, I haven't had a migraine since the 31st of April and then it was only a mild one. Gone are the days when I am completely debilitated and laid up for anything up to 4 days.
Now, I can work through a migraine more often than not, unlike 20 years ago when a migraine put me in hospital for 3 days haha. They thought that I had had a bleed on the brain which was very frightening at the time. But after a lumber puncture proved that my brain was okay (and yes I am aware that some of you may question that haha) they agreed with me that what I had been saying all along was that it was just a very severe migraine.
So rewinding my day, I may discover why I succumbed this morning.
Last night, or rather this morning, I went to bed around 1.30 a.m. and read my kindle, I put it down around 2.00 and went to sleep only to be woken by some random thought or sound not sure at 3.45. Wide awake now I got up and went and made myself a cup of hot chocolate, again reading my kindle when I returned to bed. I put that down at 4.30 and eventually drifted off to sleep.
So it was not surprising to me that I felt like a wrung-out dishcloth this morning.
I don't know if any of you have suffered migraines before but as I was driving to our first shop on the Friday marathon with the mother unit, it became apparent to me that my eyes were compromised and I knew that a migraine was on the way.
However, the mother unit didn't notice and later chided me for being quiet and miserable haha. Nevertheless, we returned home at 1.45 and I made a quick exit after putting away the spoils of the morning I went to lay down in a darkened room. 3 hours later I woke with a start wondering where the hell I was. So I am afraid that today's blog is very monosyllabic sorry.
Perhaps all the stress and activity that I have pushed myself to do building the She Shed over the past few weeks have finally caught up with me, who knows?
