On Friday this week I joined the U3A ladies and gentlemen at Al Fornos for Octobers Luncheon Club.
It was a very nice way to pass the time and meet some more members, before the full on preparations for the Halloween Party at the Cricket Club began.
It took me 2 hours to get ready, goodness knows how much longer that would have turned out to be if I hadn't had a makeup tutorial and practice with Sarah on Thursday lol. In case anyone is in any doubt as to who I actually am, I am Winifred Sanderson the witch from what is in my opinion, one of the best children's Halloween film called Hocus Pocus.
So Here are a few pictures of the various costumes that attended the party. I have to say one in particular freaked me out completely, as the photo shows. The guy in the costume kept in character all night and was really creepy. I couldn't even bear to look at him it was so un-nerving.
As you can see we had everything from Cousin It from the Adams family to Beetlejuice. Robyn dressed as Beetlejuice won a trophy for best costume in her category.
On Monday I was on good neighbour duty when I took my 91 year old neighbours to get their Autumn Covid Boosters.
Whilst I was there I took the chance to get mine as well.
However I have felt a little rough since but feel better now I have a few days under my belt.
On Tuesday, it was time to meet up with Ian again for coffee and a chat. It is a nice meet up which happens whenever he is up visiting his dad from the South Coast.
So over the last couple of weeks I have been tweaking the lounge in the Jungalow. Getting rid of clutter, moving furniture and buying the odd new pieces of furniture.
So, on Wednesday, this week, stage 2 of the makeover kicked in when Paul from Siesta blinds came and measured up for perfect fit blinds for the conservatory. As I am leaving the conservatory doors open all the time now it will be much cosier when it gets dark with blinds. These blinds actually fit to the frame of the window so there is no hanging about on windowsills.
Stage 3 happens on Saturday with the survey of the chimney in preparation for my brand new sparkly log burner to be fitted in mid December, then the final piece of the jigsaw will not be until the New Year when a new glass roof will be fitted to the conservatory replacing the poly carbonate one that is there at the moment.
So a busy but bitty week folks.
