Go, girl.....

So this morning I have been catching up on a few odd jobs around the house.

I also completed the few bits of the rafters that I forgot to paint yesterday.

I had to wait until the sun came out and dried the wood a bit, I didn't want to trap any moisture in the rafters by sealing them in with paint.

The mother unit, Sue and I had a lovely time last night at the Copperbeech pub, we had a good meal and a bit of a reminisce about Sandra. Mum had some Tagliatelle with Salmon and Prawns

Sue had a Chicken Parmo and I plumped for a Salmon fillet and salad with garlic potatoes. Sue and I decided that we had space at the end of the meal to squeeze in a dessert haha. In the end, we shared a biscoff cheesecake with ice cream, which was to die for - honestly. We ended the evening back at the mother units for coffee.

Don't you just love the leading gif today? Whilst the energetic woman in the front of the pattern is doing her thing I just love the one in the background looking as though she needs to go to the toilet haha. So why this gif you may ask. Well after I had sorted things out I fancied getting my sewing machine out and rekindling my sewing skills.

I have large amounts of material in my craft room so I chose one that I quite liked and set to work. I found the perfect cutting table in the shape of my kitchen island and soon had all the pieces cut out ready to begin sewing.

After an hour or so I had produced a nice sleeveless top. Unfortunately, I had sewn the seam allowance a bit wide, so the finished top was a little snug. But for the first effort after so many years, I was quite happy with it.

However here is the thing, it wasn't a top I was making, but rather a sun dress haha. So if the top had fitted well I would have gone on and placed the skirt on the outfit haha.

It's a shame really as I think it would have made a nice sundress, as the material is very floaty, and a pig to sew might I add. Maybe I will see if I can cut out another bodice from the material which is left over and have another go.
