Gin & cucumber that's a salad surely?

This morning was a very lethargic start. It could have been the dead of winter instead of a lovely sunny August morning I was moving that slow, very sloth-like. I woke and just lay there snuggled in my bed contemplating the day ahead, which on the surface had nothing eye-catching to tempt me out of bed haha. But around 9.45 I decided that I had better make a start or my day would most certainly be wasted.

I have taken to drinking black coffee straight up with nothing in it for my hot beverage of choice throughout the day, but whilst I was in TKMaxx the other day there was a selection of sugar-free and calorie-free syrup for coffee. Whilst I can drink black coffee with nothing added it is not easy nor enjoyable. So this syrup offered a solution. So a bottle of salted caramel syrup fell unbidden NOT into my basket. I have to say that it is delicious and so far I haven't found any indication on the packaging to suggest that it will interfere with my Delay Don't Deny regime.

Yesterday I told you about our visit to the River Tees at Low Coniscliffe. Whilst we were there Sarah commented on the fact that Dave the labrador would absolutely be in seven the heaven in this spot. So I guess today she tried that theory out. And I have to say of the dozen or so pictures and 2 videos she sent me (haha I know!!!!) he does seem to be in his element.

Okay, it has been a long time since I mentioned my lovely new bicycle. Sarah and Lee bought it for me for Christmas last year, it has been languishing in my garage ever since. I took it out for a quick try back in March but have looked at it ever since every time I go in the garage. So this morning was the moment I wheeled it out of the garage to actually start seriously using it. Balance was a little off but after 10 goes up and down the grove, I was more confident. However, my knees were telling me that I should stop. They are very stiff, but by the time I wheeled the bike back into the garage they were a little looser. Now all I have to do is learn how to change the bloody gears and then I will be set. Of course, I will start using my stationery peddle machine again whilst I am watching the TV to firm up the muscles that support my knees.

Last night I decided that I would partake in a small Gin and Lemonade. I made it healthy by adding several pieces of cucumber ( well that's my story and I am sticking to it). I thoroughly enjoyed it and it was probably the reason I slept so well and didn't want to get up this morning.

So this lunchtime I was invited down to Sarahs for a sandwich which I accepted, as you do. It was a very nice hours interlude.

When I returned my gardener Ian turned up and as we speak he is cutting my lawns and will trim up my bushes before he goes this afternoon.
