First guests in the She Shed

Oh, my days, it is HOT..... but of course, it is not just the heat but the humidity that is the killer. The weathermen have predicted this heat and humidity for the next 3 days at least.

However, last night I peeled off the duvet and just slept under a sheet. Around 3 this morning I was woken from sleep because I was cold, yes cold, so on came the duvet again and I soon was snug as a bug in a rug, so much so that I slept until 9.20 haha.

I have been cooking Sunday lunch today for the mother unit and my sister and her husband.

Whilst it is cool inside the house when we took our after-lunch coffees outside we were soon having rivulets of sweat running down our backs, then the sun came out and it was even worse. But it was nice to have somewhere a bit better for my guests to sit. Even though my she shed is not quite finished yet it made a great impression and they became the first people to use it.

But ahead of tomorrow morning when Ben is coming over I have some preparation work to do on the new bits of roof trussing.

It was pointed out to me by my brother-in-law that I should protect the underside of the new wood before it went on the frame as I wouldn't be able to get to it once it was up. I had not actually thought about that so as soon as I am finished writing the blog I will be getting changed and breaking out the paintbrush and the paint.

Last night I made myself a lovely salmon salad for my tea.

I washed it down with a cheeky glass of pink gin haha, which was very refreshing.

After my meal, which I should have taken outside into the she shed but didn't, I went and sat in said shed until the twinkly lights came on, it was so peaceful just sitting looking at the garden.
