Finally....

This morning I woke with the realisation it was half term and as such, I would be on nana duty.

So at lunchtime, Lee dropped Harry and Leighton off and they spent the afternoon watching Youtube.

I co-opted Leighton into making a batch of chocolate chip cookies, we managed to get 10 out of the dough we made but of course, that should have been more, but Leighton took a liking for the raw dough haha.

It has been a very fraught few days, with regard to the mother unit's funeral.

It wasn't until 1.30 this afternoon that we finally got the go-ahead for Thursday.

So what was holding up the job, mam died 10 days ago and the paperwork from the hospital to the coroner has been on elastic, it has been bouncing back and forth until finally a version of the cause of death was agreed upon by all parties.

So intracranial bleed, caused by a fall and frailty of old age. Of course, because it was deemed not natural causes, it has gone to an inquest. That will not stop the funeral, thank goodness, but it will mean that the whole saga will drag on for 6 to 8 weeks after it.

Sue and I began the process of legally sorting out my mum's estate today by engaging the services of a solicitor and ringing to stop some of mams pensions from being paid. Of course, this is only the tip of the iceberg, and there are many weeks of sorting out laying ahead of us.

As a treat tonight I took the boys to Mcdonald's for our tea. Even though I enjoy the food when I am eating it I always regret it afterward, so here I sit feeling very bloated and uncomfortable haha having consumed a cheeseburger and fries washed down with a banana milkshake. At this rate, I will never lose any weight..
