Fifth Element

When I was working I used to live for the weekends and then lament because I blinked and it was over.

Now that I am retired every day is like the weekend and all the weeks roll into one.

But this week we have had Storms Dudley and Eunice to contend with, so if you have had a horrible time just enjoy your weekend.

Rita tells me today that she has had an overnighter with hubby Tony near Wetherby and she had a couple of inches of snow, brrr. That's dedication to the weekend haha. She also mentioned that it was about time that we started to think about our Christmas 2022 bit of a do, so I will get the mother units 90th birthday out of the way and then we will get cracking.

Speaking of the mother's 90, she has requested a bit of sparkle for the female attendees. Mum, Susan and I will be wearing varying degrees of sparkle, from full on to a smattering of sequences. I bet you can't guess who will be full-on haha.

When I was out yesterday with mum we called into Matalan and I picked up a sparkly dress for Robyn for the party, so even the little ones are making the effort haha. Today I have visited both my children in their homes. Unfortunately, Sarah is again not very well, although she assures me that it's not Covid.

Feeling in a bit of a retro mood today so I will be settling down for the evening with Bruce Willis and Milla Jovovich to watch the classic sci-fi movie 5th Element.

I can recommend it if sci-fi is your bag and you have not watched it yet. It was made in 1997 so old Brucey is looking good......

So I am on duty tomorrow for lunchtime catering and that will be the weekend done and dusted.

However I hope and pray that the British public comes to their senses and votes Bez out of Dancing on Ice, I don't think I can take any more of his horrendous skating haha.
