Festive Deco Mesh

Well, today is just another ordinary Friday. So my blog report today could be woefully short haha.

Had a good nights sleep waking up with a start at 9.30. I had arranged to be out of the house and picking the mother unit up by 10 o'clock so there was no luxurious time spent beautify myself, it was a quick ablution and throw on some clothes and out of the door.

We had a reasonably uneventful shopping spree. I met up with my previous neighbours Hazel and Terry in Aldi and they were telling me of the demolition that had been going on in my old house. Of course, I was nosey enough to ask what they were up to and it transpires that they have knocked most of the ground floor walls out to make one big open-plan space. Replacing the back wall of the property with bi-fold doors and the large floor to ceiling window in the lounge with french doors. Good on them is all I can say because moving to the Jungalow was the best decision I have made.

My deco mesh arrived today so I am ready to demo a Christmas Wreath ahead of offering wreath making classes in November. The mesh I purchased is of course in Christmas colours but the mesh itself comes in a myriad of different colours so once the technique is mastered it can be used for different themed wreaths all year round. I appreciate that door wreaths all year round is very American but the trend is growing quickly in this country, I think they look great and as you know I have wreaths for different themes and seasons waiting to go up on my door.

This morning the mother unit presented me with a letter that she had received at the beginning of July. It stated that she did not have a TV licence and that if she didn't contact the licensing people before the 3rd of August they would be passing her details on to an enforcement bureau and she could face prosecution and a £1000 fine. As it is now some 10 days after that time I was a little worried Mum didn't seem at all fazed by the letter and suggested it was my fault for not realising it was there and sorting it out. So a large part of my afternoon has been taken up with sorting out mum's TV licence. After some considerable negotiations, I managed to get them to accept that she was 89 and didn't understand the importance of the letter and allow her to purchase a licence. To make sure that it doesn't happen again I set up a direct debit whilst I was on with them.
