So this morning I had to set my alarm for 7 o'clock, why you may ask, well because mum had an early bird appointment at the hospital with the optician to see if she could get any further help after her recent cataract operation. Sadly her eyes are not that good now and there is little that they can do to help her, but she soldiers on in the valiant hope that someone will produce a magnifying gadget that will allow her to read and watch the TV from more than 2 feet away from the screen. You would think that going to the hospital at 8.15 in the morning would be okay to get a parking spot, none of it, every spot filled, hundreds of cars in the car parks, so I had to go and find a parking spot on the street outside and walk back to the hospital. Anyway by the time I got up to the ward mum was nearly finished so that was okay. It was 9.10 and we were on our way home result.
Last nights visit with the kitchen fitter and the builder went off really well. The kitchen fitter can start work mid to end of April, which gives the builder a good few weeks to drop the ceiling in the dining room, run the new electrical cables and put in the new plumbing. This is a close artists impression of the new kitchen. All that said I am now faced with packing up my dining room and kitchen, perhaps I will wait until after Easter haha. It has been suggested that I return to the Princess Tower for the duration of the build so that I can store furniture and the boxes in my bedroom downstairs, which is what I will be doing.
I have an academy council meeting tonight for Polam Hall, I only got the agenda late last night and had to prepare a few questions to be presented in tonight's meeting, so last night or rather this morning, I didn't go to bed until 1.00 which is the first time in two weeks. Unsurprisingly I feel a little jaded this morning.
Well, my little vehicle got a bath today. It probably thought it was its birthday because I am ashamed to say it hasn't been washed since the back end of last year ooppps. As it is a mini SUV I can't reach the roof haha. So out came the mop and a nice bucket of soapy water, jobs a good one.
