Okay, yesterday I told you how excited I was for the arrival of a new piece of crafting kit. My pyrography chemical pen. It had the potential to make the whole wood burning thing a much better and safer hobby.
Well, the said pen arrived and I sat down in the craft room and got straight on to test it out.
And this folks is where the slightly disappointed minion comes in. To say I was underwhelmed with the results was a massive understatement.
The technique whilst clever didn't give the overall look of it actually being burned into the wood. It was fussy and did bleed so the outline ended up being a little blurred. So I am not satisfied with the pen and I am unlikely to use it for what it was intended for. After my foray with the chemical pen, I went back to hand-painting my creations and have added several plaques depicting the 3 kings. The blog is late tonight as I was waiting for a couple of pictures to download about the chemical pyrography pen, but it is now 11.20 and I am still waiting. If they do eventually come through I will post them tomorrow.
This morning Harry and I set to with subtracting big numbers and I have to say the way they are taught to do this nowadays is completely alien and should not work although it does. We then progressed onto Roman Numerals, granted this is a year four topic but as I said Covid has really shown up the holes in his knowledge. He really enjoyed learning or rather refreshing these and I linked it to his favourite films.
As I am all lost off now over the failed downloads I will end today's blog before it becomes tomorrow's blog haha.
