Who amongst you remember or even played and swapped scraps. These were highly coloured pieces of paper that depicted flowers, angels, noddy, babies and various other themes. It was a great pastime when I was young and I remember taking swaps to school to see if I could get any for my collection that I did not have.
Recently I found an old metal sweety tin which was filled to the top with my scraps. After spending hours (well it seemed like hours haha ) looking through my collection I wondered if there was something I could do with them.
I had been given an old mirror by my sister, actually, I had rescued it from the skip outside her house haha. It was a beautifully shaped mirror so the ideal canvas for my scraps.
so after removing the mirror and light;y sanding down the frame I proceed to stick the scraps onto the frame. I overlapped them and used PVA glue to secure them. After I had finished I coated the whole thing with a clear varnish to protect it. I think you will agree it turned out well.
