This is how the neighbours are going to be feeling when they realise they missed such a brilliant planning meeting this morning.
I was up early, for a shower, washed my hair, ironed my outfit for the meeting that sort of thing.
After taking the boys to school I returned to the Jungalow to bake some fresh scones. I had about 1 1/2 hours to accomplish all the preparations etc before guests started to arrive. So a batch of cheese, Date and crystalised ginger and cherry scones later, I finished the tidying up and vacuumed around, installed the whiteboard in a good position where it could be seen by all. Set out the snacks and waited.
Around about 10.30 the neighbours started to arrive. In all there were 15 of them, so plenty of food to go around. In fact, at the end of the meeting, I issued doggy bags and got rid of the rest of the snacks.
Everyone was really impressed with the spread I put on and the Date & Crystalised ginger scones and the frangipani tart ended up being the stars of the day.
We had a great meeting and got loads of things down on the whiteboard and started to hand out jobs to people, We will meet again on the 9th of April to see where we are with the homework I gave them haha. Don't you just love a WHITEBOARD, once a teacher always a teacher.
On the way out some of the ladies asked to see the craft room. They were admiring the hand-painted wooden bits I am doing and before I knew it I had sold £20 worth of stock with the promise to come back for more later in the year. It was a great opportunity for me to see if the things I have selected to hand paint actually would appeal to the general public.
It being Wednesday I will be visiting Mcdonald's with the boys after school. In weeks gone by I have always struggled to get the order right when we pull up to the drive-through. Well, last week the boys wrote down their orders and it made it so much easier. On route to school this morning Leighton asked if he could add a chicken mayo burger to his list haha.
