Counting chickens

After such an active day yesterday, when I spent quality time with both my children, which was great, given what the day meant to us all and had a visit from Rita, today is stacking up to be very quiet and peaceful. But as they say don't count your chickens before they hatch haha, things could change in an instant. But I have my fingers crossed that after the usual school run I will be back home by 9.00 and can possibly go out into the garden to do a little more of my borders.

Now for a cautionary tale. DONT COUNT YOUR CHICKENS never a truer word said. I had to take the mother unit to the eye clinic this afternoon (I had forgotten it was on my calendar when I was waxing lyrical this morning) and decided to call into A&E on the way back as mum had been complaining of swollen foot excessive sleepiness and pain in the site where she had broken the head off her fema three years ago. I had looked at her leg this morning and you could feel the dynamic screw spring through the skin and it was swollen and very bruised. So that was the reason to visit the A&E. Well true to form the department was stowed out with people, so we settled in for a good few hours wait. Mum wanted her nails filing so she was looking in her bag for a file. She seemed to be taking forever but when I looked at her, her eyes were rolling, her lids were fluttering and then she just collapsed and fell forward, luckily she was in a wheelchair so I was able to catch her. I immediately summoned help and she was carted off to resus. I briefly explained the situation to the doctor before I was ejected (bloody covid) I waited around for over an hour for news before I was told that I should go home to wait. She may or may not be admitted but suffice to say they have taken lots of blood and X-rays and are carrying out tests. So I am sitting here waiting for news,

So sorry for the sudden change of tack in today's blog, but for obvious reasons I am closing the blog today and will update you tomorrow.
