Colourful Heucheras, my favourites

Today I have been out and about, garden centres, visiting etc. Now I have talked myself into having Harry and Leighton overnight, not sure how that happened haha.

So, this morning I took a very large pot down to Sarah's to re-pot her Laurel plant. It was in great need and looks so much happier. Of course, Sarah was unable to help me as there were copious amounts of spiders and woodlice about so she took up her usual stance when it comes to gardening and directed operations.

After we had finished she suggested that we go to B&Qs garden centre. As I was intending to go to Elm Ridge to find some more of my favourite plant Heucheras I agreed. A little while later we returned and Sarah upgraded the front of her house with a bit of colour including some ornamental chillies plants. My lovely Heucheras will have to wait until Ian my garden comes on Thursday to be planted. I now have 6 different colours. My friend Liz set me on the Heuchera fetish last year when she bought me an orange one. I also purchased a mature fig tree at a bargain price of £25. It should have been £50 but they were selling it off.

There are a couple of festivals in Darlington this weekend. We have cricket which Sarah and Lee have great grandstand seats to every week during the season, Olli Muirs who is performing at the rugby stadium tonight and there is a food and drinks festival in the centre of the town. Sarah and Lee have gone to that and I am looking at the boys.

As part of my delay don't deny regime I have started to limit my calorie intake each day. So yesterday I made a cheesy chicken risotto from the Slimmers World 5 ingredients book and today I had the leftovers with a salad and some homemade chips.

I have also harvested the last of the red gooseberries and have also begun to pick the brambles. The thornless variety has taken very well this year and has climbed nicely over the archway. It has produced a mass of berries. I will be picking them as they ripen and then freezing them to be used for a comforting apple and bramble pie over the winter.
