This morning I defo would benefit from a self-cleaning house, there is glitter everywhere haha. Very magical I have to admit but a pig to get off sued boots. So much for sparkly hair last night.
Well here we are hurtling towards the big day and FYI today is the Winter Solstice, which is the shortest day of the year. From tomorrow the nights will be getting lighter and in no time I will be brushing off my flip flops haha.
So last night was our Christmas get together. 18 of us made the event last night which was a fabulous evening. Rita Tony and I arrived at the venue, Blackwell Grange Hotel, ahead of our guests, with a bit of trepidation as we had not seen the room dressed for the party. When we went up at the end of last week it was a bare shell so we defo had our fingers crossed. We need not have worried it was perfect. They had even moved a 10 foot Christmas tree into the room and the tables were all decked out perfectly.
The pre-dinner drinks went down a treat and when we sat down the meal was lovely, as you can see from the last picture the cheeseboard portion was huge. And yes that is for one person. If you open the pictures up you will get a better view of the attendees and how much fun we were having. Between the starter and main course, as is our tradition, we had a table game, Play your cards right to be precise. Then between the main and dessert, we had a new game I had introduced for the season which went down a treat. After dessert, we had the last table game, sticky 13s, which rounded the night off perfectly. So it only leaves me to show you the class of 2021.
For the rest of today, I will be de-glittering the Jungalow ahead of more entertaining tomorrow evening. Of course, you may be wondering where the mother unit is in all of this, well tonight she will be joining me as usual for her tea, as she is feeling a lot better and then we will be having our weekly card game back at her bungalow.
