This morning I decided that I would go on the search for a new bedroom chair.
At the moment I have a checked bucket chair in my bedroom, which is okay but does no longer go with the decor haha.
I must have had a brain freeze this morning as I got on the phone to the mother unit and asked if she wanted to come chair shopping at Redworth Furniture warehouse.
Of course, this would undoubtedly earn me millions of brownie points haha, I told mum that I wanted to be home by lunchtime as I wanted to do some gardening whilst the weather was nice.
Well, the best-laid plans of mice and men never seem to materialise. When we got to Redworth mum announced that she wanted a new bed, so the whole shopping trip then became about her bed. She didn't find anything she liked so she said that I could take her to Linthorpe Beds on the Stone Bridge in Darlington.
I could see my day slowly ebbing away haha. Well, long story short we managed to get mum a new bed which will be delivered in two weeks but I am still without a new bedroom chair.
It was 3 o'clock before I managed to get into the garden but after 3 hours of none stop graff, I have to say you can see where I have been, which is always a bonus.
It was lovely to see the plants and shrubs coming into flower. At the moment my garden is awash with bluebells and forget me knots.
Whilst I love these plants they do take over. So I have been pulling out said plants and saving the bluebells to put in a vase in the house.
Whilst I was working this little chappie came to join me, as bold as brass just inches away from where I was working. I sent a picture to Sarah who immediately replied OMG is that a rat, just a common little mouse Sarah, quite cute really.
So, I started my session with a brand new pair of gardening gloves, and by the end of the session they were done, all the fingers were worn through, that is what you get with huge long nails haha.
I have really enjoyed being in the garden and it has spurred me to do more. Before I finished I rescued the strawberry patch, hopefully, they will be able to breathe now. Last year I was thrilled at the masses of strawberries on my plants but my joy soon turned to woe when I realised that the strawberries were wild strawberries and would therefore not grow and would remain tiny. So at the end of the last season, I pulled them out and replaced them with proper strawberries. So now that the proper strawberries are weed, bluebell and forget me knot-free I hope they will grow. The second and third photos are the strawberry patch before and after.
The last photo shows what can grow from the seeds when the messy birds throw the seed all over the floor.
