Change, I don't think so....

Now for a little gripe.

I have a lot of faith in the medical profession they do so many things wonderfully, but occasionally they don't.

When David was ill, prior to going into hospital, from which he didn't return, one of the doctors from my practice came out to the house to see him.

This doctor stood at the end of the bed and hummed and arrhed saying that we would wait.

6 hours later having suffered extreme pain he was admitted to hospital. But that is in another lifetime sorry. Okay back to my gripe, the mentioning of the doctor above, is part of it. Ever since the incident with David, I have refused to see this particular doctor, who once suggested I get a copper bracelet instead of medication for my arthritis. Well, he changed my medication without consultation or reason for my cholesterol. The statin I was on was doing the job perfectly and I was tolerating it brilliantly. So when the new tablets came trustingly, I changed over, so began a fortnight of feeling very poorly, nausea, headaches, that sort of thing, and this was every day. I stuck it out to give it a reasonable time to get into my system but I was still feeling rough every day. I googled the drug to find what the side effects were and found out that it was designed for people with severely high cholesterol. My count at the moment is about 4.4, but this doctor wants it down below 3. Already a long story, sorry folks, but I rang yesterday and left a message for the said doctor. He sent a text back to apologise for making me feel ill, but had no explanation or rationale for me for why he had changed them in the first place, nothing, and then told me to stop taking the medication immediately and go back to the original ones which did nothing to improve my confidence in him. Gripe over I am sorry haha,

This morning I have begun the count down to the She Shed christening BBQ at the weekend. As a lot of the guests have never seen the Jungalow, I want it to look its best, so today and tomorrow it is clean baby clean haha.

The only fly in this perfectly planned ointment is that I don't, particularly like cleaning haha, but needs must and I will just have to bite the bullet and get on with it.

Yesterday I purchased some chicken, burgers, sausages and ribs from Jacksons the Butchers in the covered market which will be delivered tomorrow, so at least the catering is sorted.

The forecast in the North East is for rainy blustery weather all week, but so far miraculously Saturday is down to be fine. It is supposed to be raining now but the sun is shining, although storm Ian is playing havoc with the trees and shrubs. I am hopeful that the long-range forecast remains true.

But regardless if it rains we will still be okay under the new tarpaulin as long as the wind goes away haha. I will be advising guests to wrap up warm because we are spending at least the daylight hours outside in the shed.
