A couple of days ago I ordered 2 tonnes of bagged shingle from an online store. They promised 1 to 3 days delivery, all good so far.
Well, yesterday they narrowed that down to today or tomorrow, they would let me know. Of course, they didn't so I had no idea what time or day they would arrive.
As Ben is coming to help me barrow it around the back and spread it I thought it better to put him off from today and rebook him for tomorrow. He also reminded me that I needed some weed mat/barrier to go under the gravel as well.
So, the order said delivery between 8 am and 5 pm on the day they would deliver. Now in the past, I have been caught out royally by this wide delivery window and have dutifully gotten up at the early time and then waited all day for the delivery to be the last on the wagon.
Today, as I had had no confirmation delivery slot, I thought no I will get up when I am ready, so there I was at 8.15 looking for a holiday beanie hat on Amazon, (as you do) when there was a knock at the front door. Yes, you guessed it the company had my order down for the first of the day but didn't bother telling me. What a rush to pull some clothes on and then go outside to move my car so they could drop the 2 one ton bags of shingle on the drive haha.
As you can see by 8.45 mission was accomplished and the noisy lorry was on its way. Don't know what my elderly neighbours would have made of the flying bags of shingle sailing over shrubs and garden walls that early in the day haha.
I decided that because I had put Ben off until tomorrow I would take the opportunity to blitz the craft room. Since losing the garage I have had a large illuminated unicorn, that stands on my front lawn over Christmas Time, taking up space in there (it used to live in the garage haha) and now needs a forever home somewhere in the craft room which allows people not to trip over it or have to struggle around it.
Speaking of Christmas, as you do on a hot heat wave day in August, you may like the following, but not a lot haha.
19 weeks, 4 days, 15 hours, 48minutes and 52 seconds
to Christmas Day but who is counting haha.
