Last night I set my alarm because I was picking Sarah up at 8.40 to go and get our party nails done. I set it for 7.45 to allow myself plenty of time to pull things together. However, at 8.00 I woke and thought that I must have slept through my alarm. Then released that it was not Saturday but Friday and I had set my alarm for tomorrow.
This defo is the advice I will be giving myself until Tuesday, whereupon I will break into a frenzy of activity with preparation for the mother unit's 90th birthday party.
Wednesday will see the cakes baked, still not clear what flavour she has decided on, she keeps changing her mind. She has until Tuesday evening to make a definitive decision.
Thursday I will be icing said cakes and Friday I will be joining my sister Sue down at the venue to decorate the place to within an inch of its life, before heading off to the hairdressers around 4.30 to have a blow-dry and tart up.
Sarah has taken the half-day off so she will be helping also but her main assignment on Friday is to get the old birds' makeup and nails sorted.
Also this week I will be checking in with the venue, the caterer and the entertainment to make sure everything is on track. So I am going to treasure the next couple of days haha.
Yesterday I tried to upload some pictures showing the chemical pyrography pen but it took until this lunchtime for my one drive to actually upload said pictures upon which it uploaded 4 of each - typical. So a quick recap - the first picture shows a design I did that uses the conventional wood-burning tool, the second shows the chemical pen and I think you will agree which one looks neater. The third picture is a couple of religious coasters I did. Today I picked up some small chopping board blanks to decorate, pictures when they are done.
When we lost Dave, Sarah's response was to go and get a small tattoo on her ankle. She was never happy with it so today she has had a redo of the tattoo with a completely fresh design. I don't particularly like tattoos but this is nice although a little big for my liking, I guess it had to be big to overwrite the original tattoo. The significance of the red carnation is that it was Dave's favourite flower, so in her words, it had more meaning for her. She however is thrilled with it,
