And breathe....... it seems to have been a very long weekend. Starting on Friday night and ending half an hour ago when Ben and Nikki made it back from the wedding in Tewksbury and took their children home.
I have to say my grandchildren are super good, polite and absolutely no bother, a credit to my son and his wife.
But as I am approaching my twilight years I am finding that long haul looking after the children, even if they are saints, is taking its toll.
So Sunday today started for me at 7.00 o'clock when I had to get Dominic up in readiness for his 8.30 pick up, as he was competing in a football tournament. At exactly 8.30 his lift arrived and I packed him off with a packed lunch and 2 large bottles of water. However, around 12.30 he arrived back on my doorstep his team having been knocked out of the tournament in the first round. Never mind Dominic hope the England team do better tonight. Luckily he had eaten his packed lunch so it didn't upset the lunch numbers.
So today we had a lovely chicken dinner I managed to find a 6 legged chicken to satisfy all the chicken leg fans haha. I was entertaining mother, Auntie Alice, Jeff and Sue as well as me and Robyn, she was a great help preparing the vegetables and shelling homegrown broad beans. It is the last get together for two weeks as mother flies the coop tomorrow for Essex whoop whoop.
