Busy busy this week.

I got a lovely surprise last Saturday.

Val who was up visiting from Oxford came to see me for lunch. I had made some tuna sandwiches and a batch of cherry scones in the air fryer.

Scones in the air fryer, not sandwiches haha.

It was great to see her and we took the opportunity not only to put the world to rights but to firm up my pre-Cheltenham visit to her on the 8th of July.

I hate it when companies think they are doing you a favour by in their words "Updating your online experience" well, since my blog platform provider helpfully did that for me recently it means that I haven't got control over the picture placement I usually have so I apologise for the weird spacing.

Last week I was again baking. Rita had asked me to make a birthday cake for her sister-in-law who was visiting from Australia.

The brief was easy enough to accomplish as the lady in question was an avid golfer.

It was decided that the topper would be substantial enough for her to box up and take with her when she returned to Oz.

Actually, it was a really cool topper made up of highly polished nuts and bolts.

The cake went down a treat and the birthday girl was well happy.

Also last weekend I had the pleasure of my fur baby Frank to stay.

He came for a two-night sleepover whilst his mum and dad, sister and brother went to a music festival up in Alnwick.

Everything went smoothly on Friday night but Frank had other ideas about Saturday night. He decided that he didn't want to go to sleep when I did so even after I had put him in his crate, and whispered suitable endearments in his ear, he wouldn't settle and proceeded to howl and whimper until I eventually had to get back up to see to him.

So here I was 2.30 in the morning sitting on my recliner chair in my lounge with a blanket over me and Frank curled up asleep on my legs. Oh yes, that's right curled up asleep. After about an hour I managed to lift him back into his crate and thankfully he went off to sleep until the morning.

Today I went to All Saints Church Summer Fayre. I don't, as a rule, do Summer Fayres, but I was eager to find out if my new range of crafts would be a success. I have to say I had a great day and sold many 5D diamond-painted coasters, proving that the new range was a hit. Of course, I couldn't resist this little wood-turned apple with an accompanying mouse from the man on the next stall haha. Now one of my customers gave me a King Charles Ten Pound note, it is the first one I have seen and it looked so wrong on many levels. But hey-ho times move on.

This week's brain Teaser. Can you find the baby sea horse?
