Busy busy this week!!

Well, like most of you this week Darlington was hit by snow.

Not a lot to be fair, but enough for poor little Frank to feel it, being as he is so much closer to the ground than most dogs haha.

On Thursday I returned to my dentist for the first appointment post-implant surgery. I am pleased to report that all stitches have now been removed and the implants are healing well. The next appointment for Phase 3 of the process is not until the 4th of March. At which time, depending on how the pegs have incorporated into my jaw, the impressions for the final teeth will be made. So I am still on target for having my new teeth by my birthday at the end of April, fingers crossed everyone, please.

Looking at Frank guiltily sitting on my rug you would not believe what he had just done? A couple of weeks ago he helped himself to my wool felted Stargazing Hare. He chewed off one of its legs. But I managed to retrieve it in time with the intention of wool felting the leg back on. However, fast forward to this week and Frank was momentarilty left to his own devices so he again got his paws on the Hare, unfortunately as you can see the poor Hare is defo a casuality of war haha. There is no way back for this poor animal.

On Wednesday it would have been Daves birthday he would have been 73. So on Thursday it was decided that we would go out for lunch on his behalf. We went to the newly renovated Spotted Dog at High Coniscliffe and wow what a transformation it has under gone. Completely unrecognisable from the old pub, really well thought out. The food was amazing also. I had a pheasent terrine and beer battered Haddock and chips delish.

Around 4 oclock I went into town to meet up with Ian Johnson for coffee. He comes up to Darlington every couple of months to visit his 101 year old dad from his home near Brighton.

Friday I was super busy making up a cake order. So 40 cupcakes and a 10inch cake later and I am done. Actually got to use my gadget which decants the cake batter into the paper cases without making a mess. Very pleased with the results.

The cakes were for my cousins daughters, little girl who is 1. Her main cake is themed for In the Midnight Garden, you know the characters, Iggle Piggle, Upsydaisy , Makkapaka, tombellaboos to name a few. My grandkids loved them when they were little and it is still going strong.

So the main cake will have these characters on the top which Isabelle will be able to keep and play with after her party.

Sue and I will be making a guest appearance at said party after our Sunday Lunch.

Here are a few shots of the finished iced main cake.

Now for a little teaser.

This is the sleeve of my party frock, Charleston design with fringes and lots of shiny sequines.

Can't wait to wear it. Although I am having to rein myself in AGAIN as it is still 3 months away.

But it will soon come around I have no doubt on that one.

Last weeks solution did you find them all.
