Busy busy !!!

Well, I have had a busy morning attending my oldest grandsons Christmas Assembly in which he was playing a shepherd. Now back in the day when I was teaching the nativity play came with full costumes for the key players.

However today all the children wore Christmas Jumpers and only had the traditional headdresses where appropriate. The storytelling was pretty unusual as well. It was in the form of verse and mixed the original story with 21st-century anecdotes. It was funny in parts and very entertaining. Harry did really well even accompanying along to Jingle Bells using handbells. I went with Lee and we managed to get a front-row seat so had a great view. As an added bonus at the end of the assembly, we were allowed to have a look at Harry's school books as the open evening hadn't been allowed because of covid.

When I returned I took my next-door neighbour who is nearly 90 to the Halifax Building Society in the town to sort out her account. She had been told that because she had not used it for some years, they would close the account and donate the money to charity.

Now considering there are many tens of thousands in that particular bank account she was distressed that they could do that. Apparently she is saving for her and Derek's funerals haha. She also thought that it could be a scam so I earned 1 billion brownie points doing my good neighbour act, I am pleased to say that everything is okay.

Tonight I am not only on the basketball training run but I am babysitting for Ben and Nikki whilst they go to watch John Bishop. So a sneaky McDonalds for me and the children on the way home might be in order.
