Well, what a beautiful day up here in the frozen North. It took me over 1 1/2 hour to walk from the Jungalow to the post box in the next street (usually 10 mins round trip haha) but the neighbours were out in force so a cheeky chat to each one soon logged up the time. After I had posted the cards I called on Davids cousin who lives in the bungalows at the bottom of Westbourne Grove to see if she was okay. A cup of coffee and a speculaas (my favs) biscuit later and a nice catch-up chat I was on my way back home. She had given me a wool felting project which she can't do because of health issues in her arm, so the little owl will keep me going during the evenings when I am watching TV.
Here is some great news I heard today about one of my favourite country meeting places. The Farm Shop at Medieval Ulnaby has acquired some picnic pods for their farmyard. So it will make a lovely outing destination in the summer. Currently, they have 4 pods and will reopen them on the 12th of May after covid relaxation I think to the public again. So Rita, get your sunglasses ready for a little trip.
I have gone all Alan Titchmarsh today. It is my intention to cut both lawns and to fire up the scarifier ahead of summer growth. At the moment my lawns are like memory foam mattresses as there is so much moss in them. Hopefully, the scarifier will take a lot of that out allowing the grass to grow back. However, you never know after I have finished I may not have any lawn left haha. Quick update on the garden marathon. TOTAL AND ABSOLUTE FAIL haha. I retrieved the brand new never used Scarifier and Aerator from the garage, Dave had purchased it about 6 years ago and it has never been used. Anyhow said machine has lost part of its handle during the move, so an email has been sent to the manufacturers to see if I can purchase the bits that have been lost. Next, I got out the lawnmower, set off with good intentions on the back lawn only to find that there were no blades on the machine or replacements in the garage. So a quick purchasing trip to Amazon and yet another job had to be sidelined. Don't despair I haven't wasted my day as I have renovated my garden fountain which was full of gunk from over the winter.
