BOOM that's more like it!!

BOOM!!!! 10.30 and that, my readers is a lie in haha. Not surprising after the busy day I put in yesterday.

Although busy it was thoroughly enjoyable, it seemed so normal with only the social distancing giving a nod to Covid. Catching up with people I hadn't seen for some time was amazing.

Right, I feel as though I need to report on the experience at the Oven restaurant last night. As far as Covid was concerned, the restaurant is well in compliance with the rules. If any of you have been to the Oven in the past you would know that the tables were crammed in and you could actually join in conversations if you wanted to haha, nothing was secret. Well, they had taken out 50% of the tables so all good. The young staff were very attentive getting us drinks and menus. The menu was fairly extensive and quite a mixture of different cuisines. English, Italian, Egyptian to name but a few. Mum and I wanted poached salmon but we were told that we should have preordered it, salmon really, so I ended up with seafood chicken a bit of a mixed bag of prawns, mussels and a chicken breast drowned in a tomatoes sauce. Everyone else was happy with their meals. My meal came with veg when I asked where they were the waiter said in the microwave. I questioned that and he quickly back peddled and said they were in the kitchen. Needless to say, when they came they were tasteless and obviously frozen. I am not a snob really but a pan with a few fresh vegs in is not too much to ask. I appreciate that they had only a few customers but come on you want people to come back. Anyway, I personally was not too impressed with the food and I won't be going back.

Have had a lovely Sunday dinner at Sue and Jeffs today, and will entertain my Auntie Alice tonight, as mums boyfriend Geoge is coming around and she is not too keen on him. That's okay as I don't usually do anything on Sunday evenings.

Have spent a large proportion of time reading documents this afternoon ahead of the full academy council meeting on Tuesday. It is the last one of the school year and will be very busy. It will be nice not to have the full-on commitment of these governor roles for the next 6 to 8 weeks.

Yesterday I suspended my strict regime of fasting so that I could enjoy the day and the evening. Breaking my fast from 12 until 9.30 so increasing my eating window by 4 1/2 hours, has cost me 1lb in weight gain, which I considered a good trade but I was straight back on it this morning.
