Bloody snow - oh yes - Day 415

It was lovely first thing this morning. Having woken up at 6 o'clock, I decided to get up and have an early breakfast then I could get a good start on finishing the painting in the new kitchen.

Whilst I was sat eating my marmalade on toast and looking out over my garden I saw several different birds. They kept coming and I decided that I would make a note of all the birds that visited my garden whilst I had breakfast.

So Blue Tits, blackbirds, pigeons, magpies, collared doves, thrushes and our resident hawk. The blackbird was showing

extreme interest in the open window to the garage, whilst I was watching it made several trips through the window into the garage, it was fascinating to watch. This afternoon I had to go into the garage and the blackbird was in. It had made a terrible mess pooping everywhere and began to dive bomb me in its efforts to escape. It finally made it out of the garage and to freedom.

The collared doves were sat on the catenary wire which supports the power cable to the garage and were showing great interest to my eves.

There is, however, one bird that lives in my Rowan tree that came all the way from Wales to keep me company. He has very unusual and lovely plumage. I think you will agree he is a very different type of bird than you usually see haha.

So back to the very English weather today. like I said it was lovely this morning all be it a bit brisk, but the sun was shining. By 9 o'clock the clouds had closed in and it began to rain. Then at 11, the sun came back out but by 2.30 it was hail stoning which turned to snow, only in Britain haha.

The builder has been today finishing off a few lastie jobs in the kitchen and outside. I went and collected some paint that will complement the new wallpaper in the dining room then finished painting the new kitchen. I have to say my legs are killing me and I feel exhausted. I am so glad we are nearing the end.

Now finally, an update on the meeting Sarah and I had with the Howdens manager last night. He totally agreed that the island had been designed wrong which would not now allow the washing machine to be hidden away. He accepted that it was their fault and asked what could be done to make it right. Well, as compensation they are giving me a full-sized larder slider cupboard with all racking with extra cornices and plinths to finish it off to say sorry for their mistake, To say I am over the moon is an understatement. I had priced this very cabinet to include in the original kitchen design but it was £741 so I decided not to go with it. But now they are giving me it - so that is what I call a result.
