Birthday cakes at 10 paces

Well, after yesterday's full-on day with Easter activities you would think that I would be able to put my feet up today, not a bit of it.

I was back on the tutoring trail with Harry first thing. His mum and I had come to an arrangement that because he had a little break from lessons yesterday he would do 1 1/2 hours today to catch up.

However, my daughter omitted to tell Harry the arrangements, so we had a petulant child huffing and puffing and complaining madly for the first 15 minutes haha.

After I had stopped the timer and he saw me waiting until he got the message he was doing the extra time he settled down and the time passed swiftly.

This afternoon my gardener came and sorted out the front garden borders, which are now looking lovely. He also planted a rhododendron which I had bought last week in the front border. I gave him the weed burner to have a play with which he thoroughly enjoyed haha.

Whilst he was playing in the garden I was indoors making Robyn's birthday cake. I had baked the two cakes yesterday so that they would be ready to be iced today. She is seven tomorrow and is having a roller skating party, which I have been asked to attend. She wanted a Fortnite cake so this is what I made her.

She hasn't seen it yet but both her mum and dad think it is ace. I only hope the birthday girl will like it.

Today as a pre-birthday treat, she was taken to the beauty salon and had her nails painted sparkly blue and her hair trimmed. Then it was onto a place where she could have her ears pierced, I have to say I think she is a little young for that but I am not her parents. Of course, Robyn is thrilled with the whole look.
