I have had a luxurious morning to myself. No tradespeople, no alarms, no grandchildren, no appointments, just me.
I started my relaxing day with no alarm and I was asleep until 10.00 pure slothfulness haha.
Next, I had a long shower and leisurely made my breakfast which today was scrambled eggs with caramelised onion Philadelphia cream cheese in the mixture with toast. Sounds awful when I write it down but it was very tasty.
I have just finished putting up my tablets for the next 4 weeks (a job I hate to do, but at least I only have my own to put up now and not the mother units haha)
So that has been my morning I have done nothing significant but feel so chilled so roll on the rest of the day. However, I will be back to the alarm tomorrow morning as the kitchen fitter is coming to put my plinths and doors back on, and I am hosting Sunday lunch from the new kitchen.
Back in July 2019 my cousin's daughter came to me and asked me to make her wedding cake for her wedding in May 2020. We decided on a spectacular 3 tier cake which I am looking forward to making, the design has to include her labrador Wilf haha. I also helped her by designing and producing the bespoke wedding invitations and all the other bits and bobs that go with invites these days. Unfortunately, we all know what happened in May 2020. It was heartbreaking for her, she sent me a picture on her supposed wedding day with her veil on and a sash that read "should have been married today". As a nurse, she was in the thick of it from the get-go. So she sensibly changed the date to May 2021. She rang me the other day for a catch-up and has again had to move the wedding to the 18th September, hopefully, she will be able to have the wedding she had planned by then, fingers crossed.
I am so excited to have a few things on my calendar towards the end of this month. Of course, I looked in my wardrobe and found that I had absolutely nothing to wear haha, so I have had to purchase several new outfits for the occasions, haha, well that is my excuse and I am sticking to it. As you can see from my wardrobes, they are practically bare so obviously, I have nothing to wear lol.
