It was yet another busy week, although that is not unusual for the beginning of December for me.
This week has been filled with lots of reflection and more than a little wine consumed
At the beginning of the week, we put the final touches for the season to Daves grave. It was nice that Ben and Frank joined us this time. Ben, however, was soon put to work repairing the damage from the latest storm. I thought I had done a good job of cementing the little trees into the ground but the storm had other ideas haha.
On Wednesday night I hosted a GNO (Girl's Night Out) at the Jungalow. We were in for a fabulous treat as Caroline from the Cheese and Wine shop in the town centre came to host a wine and cheese tasting. We sampled three different red wines and Caroline was on hand to tell us all about the wine and recommend what foods might go with them. She had also provided two huge grazing platters which were filled to the brim with delicious titbits. Needless to say, we all had a great night.
I have been making bears again this week.
The cream bear is a memory bear which was requested by my cousin to commemorate her mother Joyce. To be fair I have taken way too long to make this bear but she now has it and is thrilled to bits.
The striped bear is a living memory bear and was requested by Sarah as it is her favourite shirt which both her boys have worn over the years. She has no idea I have made it yet so it will be a great surprise for her on Christmas Day.
I have a selection of mam's clothes which are destined to be bears when I get around to it haha.
At the end of this week, I was again at the cemetery. This time Sue and I went to put the finishing touches to Mam and Dad's grave and of course place the new plaque which we had bought for Mam.
Finally this week I attended the Christmas Dinner for the u3a which was held at Bannatynes Hotel. I have to say the food was not very good but the company was great. The afternoon was finished off with a trio called The Hambones, who sang a selection of Christmas folk songs. Not really my thing to be fair but it passed a couple of hours haha.
This week's brain teaser - Can you find a bucket and spade hidden amongst the Christmas Jumpers?
