I have had a busy old week to be fair. Well, the start of it was busy haha.
So on Thursday morning, these beautiful flowers arrived from two of my close friends to say a big thank you for being invited to my 70th birthday.
There was no need I was just so pleased to have them there, but the thought was very appreciated.
As I mentioned last week flowers really hit the spot for me.
It was a timely delivery as the flowers I talked about last week are starting to wane, but now I have a fresh vibrant bouquet to keep me going - love it.
On Monday I began the task of organising the annual Christmas Event for the gang. With that in mind and since Rita has retired, I took my sister Sue off for the day to look at a venue which I feel will be excellent for our needs. Afterwards, we had a bit of retail therapy. For my new appointment as social secretary, I awarded myself with a brand new sparkly notebook. Once all the ducks are in a row I will be letting the gang in on the arrangements.
As mentioned above the retail therapy was very fruitful. I picked up this Harris Tweed leather bag in mint green leather and a holiday tote bag on my travels.
I bought a fridge magnet as is my wont and then we had lunch.
Before Sue and Jeff went off to Thailand for a holiday and to visit Leanne, they gave me a wooden arbour with a seat for my garden.
Ben finally collected the arbour at the beginning of the week in his brand new sparkly company van.
Now starts the long process of cleaning it up and painting it to match the She Shed.
The arbour has been dismantled to make it easy to transport and paint.
The big painting day was scheduled for Wednesday this week but as it rained continually all night and all throughout the day the job was put on hold.
On Friday to round the week off nicely I travelled up to Durham to an Italian restaurant called Antico.
It was a surprise birthday meal for Julia one of my many friends who are turning 70 this year. The meal was great and of course, the crack was excellent. It was especially gratifying that Julia didn't have a clue as to the surprise that awaited her. I only wish that I had had my camera fired up to capture the look on her face.
This weeks brain teaser - can you find the missing duckling?
