Baking up a storm....


This was me this morning, you have to try your wares to see if they are edible before you unleash them on the unsuspecting public haha, so if it is your birthday I have been celebrating with you. As you may remember I told you last week that I had been asked to co-ordinate the Queens Platinum Jubliee street party planning committee, (wow that's a mouthful right there) Tomorrow morning I am hosting a planning meeting coffee morning. So I have been doing a little baking which I will offer my guests tomorrow morning.

I have baked chocolate fairy cakes, Carrot fairy cakes and Salted caramel fairy cakes. I also baked a cherry frangipane tart and some scones, cheese, ginger and date and some cherry ones. I am hoping that there will be enough eats as I have no idea how many of the 30 residents of the street will turn up haha. This afternoon I have spent icing and tarting up said fairy cakes.

I also cooked today as well, oh what a busy bee I have been. Mum comes to my house on a Monday and Tuesday for her tea and last night I served her scampi and chips which didn't get rave reviews I have to say, even though they were delicious. So tonight I am serving her Chinese chicken with tempura coated scalloped potatoes. It smells unreal as it has been festering in the slow cooker all day, but it remains to be seen if she will like it or not.
