Back to basics.......

Around 2016 I travelled to India to see my late sister and her husband who were there on their 3 months extended holiday at the time.

Whilst there I was charmed into getting my wedding ring, engagement ring and a favourite dress ring Rhodium Plated.

At the time I was very much into silver or white gold jewellery and had decided to make my most precious rings white gold looking.

I was thrilled with the results, but the Rhodium plating began to wear off over the years. Now my precious rings looked really shabby and wearing them was becoming an embarrassment.

Three weeks ago I found a company in London that would reverse the process by removing the Rhodium plating and returning my rings to their former glory. I waited patiently and yesterday they were returned to me looking stunning. I am so pleased with the results. Unfortunately, I no longer wear my engagement ring or wedding ring because they no longer fit me but at least I have the satisfaction that whoever receives my rings in the future will be getting two beauties.

I have for some time now had a rotary washing line. I don't like them as they look so unsightly stuck in the middle of the lawn. I know you are going to say that I can take them out and store them when not in use, but seriously how many people can be bothered lugging these contraptions around, I certainly don't.

When I was at Sue and Jeffs for Sunday Lunch last week Sue showed me a fab solution. It didn't take me long to ask Mr Amazon to bring me one and yesterday Ben came and installed it for me. As you can see the unit is attached to the wall and folds away when you have finished using it - I love it.

A couple of months ago my mini informed me that my tyre pressures were down and that I need air in them. I think I told you that the last time I tried to do it myself at the garage I inadvertently emptied the air completely out of one of my tyres. Not wanting to go there again you can imagine my consternation last weekend when my Mini again was pleading for air in its tyres. I dropped many hints to Ben and Sarah but they refused to come do it for me. Not out of unkindness I am sure but the fact that such a simple operation should be mastered by anyone who drives. Well, this morning I came to the realisation that I was on my own and so I braved the air-inflating gadget in the boot and set to work. Ben had furnished me with the correct tyre pressures for the back and front so off I went. I have to say it was the easiest 10 minutes I have spent in a long time. So a big cross for trying to get out of it and a big tick for mastering the skill haha.

On Thursday this week, I was again teaching crafting to my u3a ladies. This month's craft was the Japanese craft of Kumihomi bracelet making. After a rocky start and lots of confusion, the ladies picked up the weaving process and produced some lovely bracelets. Also this week I was hosting the new member's coffee morning in House of Fraser cafe.

This week's Rebus puzzles for you

Last week's solutions, did you guess them?
