Another blistering day .....

So this morning I escaped with the children to the play park at the dam off Coniscliffe Road.

They had had a sleepover last night and I didn't want them watching youtube this morning so I took them out for some fresh air.

Whilst I was there Rita had texted to see if I was around for a catch-up. I explained where I was and she came up for a chat haha. It was very nice to see her.

Last night Sarah Lee and Harry went to a presentation night for Darington Storm which is the basketball team Harry plays for. It was the end of the season and Harry was hoping that he would get a taking part medal. However, he did one better than that and received a trophy for the most improved under 12-year-old. He was surprised and chuffed with his trophy.

Like I said this morning I was at the park and the boys ran around like headless chickens. It was far too hot for me to be doing that and it wasn't long before they came begging for ice creams. As luck would have it (yeah right a strategically parked Mr Whippy van in the carpark) the boys and I were able to get ice cream, actually a Mr Whippy 99, yummy. While we ate it we wandered down to the dam to watch the river it was lovely.

Only realised when we got to the park that Leighton didn't have any shoes on. I asked him where they were and Harry told me that he didn't bring any with him last night haha.

I have for some time now been searching for a suitable carrier to take my diabetic medication on holiday with me. The epi-type pens have to be refrigerated so I needed something to keep them cool until I could put them in the little fridge in my hotel room. So this fine piece of kit arrived today from my friend Mr Amazon which will be perfect for the job.

I would like to give a shout out to my girls who are suffering the dreaded Covid lurgy at the moment, I hope you get well soon.
