And so it begins.......

On Monday morning Trevor from Ferryhill Roofing finally turned up again.

I couldnt be to annoyed with him as the weather has been atrocious for weeks and I wouldnt have wanted my roof stripped off anyway.

He promised scaffolding on Tuesday, but again the weather thwarted us, so fast forward to Wednesday morning and the scaffolding is going up.

Since the new glass roof on the conservatory is already in place they are having to be super careful when they scaffold over the top of it.

But we are on the way, estimated time to completion is about 2 to 3 weeks. They are going to take the mini pitched roof off the dorma as it is all wonky and replace it with a flat roof. It was all happening towards the end of the week as 9 pallets of new roofing tiles and all the new ridge tiles turned up. It was a wonder to watch as the sole delivery man craned the tiles off the lorry onto the drive. I wasnt very popular when I told him I didnt want the pallets on the grass haha.

The downside is that my new baby will have to live out on the street for the duraton of the build as they need her space on the drive for a skip.

Last Sunday was of course Mothers Day. In the morning Sarah, Ben, Nikki, Robyn, Dominic and of course my little man Frank came to see me with flowers and gifts. So the morning saw me with a housefull and a lot of well wishes.

On the lunchtime, as Sues husband Jeff was away, Sue and I decided to treat ourselves to Sunday Lunch at the Bridge in Stapleton. We were surrounded by families with proud smiley mothers haha, but as I told Sue we are mothers so had a right to be there. However, as far as the food was concerned it was very pricey and not that brilliant to be fair. It cost us £20 each for one course, which for this part of the country is pricey. This would have not been an issue if the food was to die for, but as the chicken had a funny flavour to it I did wonder if indeed it would be food to die for, but here I am still alive and kicking haha. So all things being considered The Bridge is off the venue list.

Now when I moved my kitchen from the small original one to the larger room it now lives in, my builders where a little ham fisted, as I reported in last weeks blog. So on Monday my brand new sparkly Zanussi oven was delivered and installed. Now all I have to do is work out how to use its many features, including its built in Air Fryer.

Here is a little guide to the types of tea you should drink depending on your mood. I have to say when I am feeling in a frivolous mood I drink popcorn tea honestly.

On Wednesday afternoon Sarah asked if I would like to go for a little walk. So the plan was that she and dave the dog would walk from hers to mine and then I would join her at the end of my Grove.

The idea was to walk to my oldest grandsons school and then back. One and half miles later I arrived back home feeling shattered. I am glad I did it but I think I should have done a short route to start with haha. Sarahs plan is to walk the route Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday each week. The jury is still out wether I will be joining her haha. Of course I did join her on Thursday for another trot up to Carmel School. So over the 2 days I racked up 15,000 steps which can only be good as I usually only manage 4,000 or so over a two day period haha.

In other news last weeks blog hit the devil mark haha. It was the 666th digital blog I have published. So quiet an achievement for a weekly shot of drivel haha started through Covid that was expected to peater out.
