Could my day get any worse???? short answer is hell yes.
Woke this morning having had a really weird night. Sleep eluded me until the early hours and I was still feeling under the weather.
I got myself up ready to receive the boys with the knowledge that I had a very full programme ahead of me today, with 3 meetings.
I have had what I thought was a head cold for the past 3 or 4 days, so being stoically British I was just getting on with it.
But having read several articles on the new symptoms of Covid over the last few days I decided that I had better take a lateral flow test and guess what.
Your genial blog writer has the dreaded lurgy. I have to say that I do feel under par, to say the least, but so much better than I did at the weekend. So which of the new symptoms prompted me to take a test? A Headache, niggling which has been niggling on in the background - tick, nausea, waves of feeling incredibly sick all though not actually being sick - tick I actually blamed it on my new diabetic drug haha and visits to the loo with diarrhoea, not overly but noticeably different from the norm.
Still convinced that I just had a cold you can imagine how surprised I was to test positive, so much so that I took another test 20 minutes later to check to see if it was correct. But as you can see the strong black line next to the T is confirmation enough that I am positive. I have then had to go around informing people I have been in touch with over the last few days to tell them.
Anyway, pre covid diagnosis AKA this morning haha, I went into town for a breakfast meeting with this lovely lady over pancakes and bagels to start the discussions for this Christmases forthcoming gang festivities. And of course, a long-overdue natter and catch up.
Imagine how I felt this afternoon when I had to text her my results. I know that we have to get on with it these days and there is no official need to isolate anymore, but I am very conscious of the fact that she cares for her 93-year mother.
I have also had to back away from contact with the mother unit at least for the next couple of days just to be safe, although she was at my house last night having her dinner, so technically it may be a done deal already.
So folks that is my news haha.
Thanks Irene I will
Hi Dot, this is not surprising, I nearly said that you should take a test when you were complaining of the migraine. I had a dreadful headache when I had it. Never mind - just take it easy, you should start to feel better in a few days although it takes ages to get your stamina back. x x
