Oh my days, just take a look at this picture. It popped up on one of my social media feeds the other day and I thought I would share it with you.
Of course, the tree these men are cutting down is a giant Redwood, and we all know how big they are haha.
But you must agree that 15 guys sitting or standing inside the initial cut are quite something to behold.
What makes this picture more incredible is that at the time of taking it these men would have only been using axes and hand saws (all be it large handsaws haha) to take down the tree.
Today my new shed was delivered, I cant wait to get on with the assembly of it with Scott tomorrow. It's incredible to think that a 6-foot x 5-foot shed could be condensed into such a small box haha. Yesterday afternoon Scott and I watched a Youtube video on how to construct the shed which was very helpful.
I have spent most of this morning being quite sedentary haha. It has been quite a change to my routines of late but I had to catch up on paperwork which I had been putting off and which even though I was ignoring it didn't stop it from mounting up. Anyway, all up to date now and my final commitments to Polam Hall as a governor were carried out ahead of my resignation from the post of governor at the end of this school year. I will attend an art exhibition and a drinks reception at the school on Tuesday to say my final goodbyes. To be honest whilst I have enjoyed being a governor for Polam it has been very demanding far more than my other governorship, but I guess that could be that Polam is 4 school phases and not just 2 like Hurworth.
This morning I decided to make some more vegetable soup in my soup maker. Well, I duly filled the maker with vegetables and stock and set it off on its cycle.
I was expecting after 22 minutes some delicious homemade veg soup for my dinner. However, near to the end of its cycle, it began to make very strange noises. When it had finished and I looked inside the vegetables were not cooked properly nor were they blended smooth.
I am hopeful that it is not broken as this would be the second soup maker that has gone to the big kitchen gadgets home in the sky. I have decided to repeat the cycle and see what happens, it is at present making angry grinding noises so I will wait till it is finished. Well, I can report some very sad news the soup machine has indeed expired which is very disappointing as I only got it last year and have only used it a couple of times. Warranty, warranty I hear you all crying, but it is more than a year ago so c'est la vie.
