A welcomed change of pace.....

I had a very welcomed change of pace and focus today.

Sarah and the boys asked me if I would like to go down to Baydale Pumpkin Patch on the outskirts of Darlington to pick up some pumpkins.

The outing also included pumpkin hollowing and craving back at Sarah's.

It was a lovely fine day and we had an enjoyable hour walking through the patch and choosing our pumpkins. Sarah and I also went for some tiny ones to complete our displays.

I decided that I would do an alternative carving this year. So I attempted to do an American carve where you only take off the skin for your design and leave the rest of the pumpkin intact. I started out carving a Skelton from the film Cocoa but the children and Sarah said it looked like a monkey, so a monkey it is haha. The last shot is my doorstep display.

It was really nice being able to think about something else other than my lovely mams send-off.
